C Street Master Plan
The purpose of C Street Master Plan is to create an overall vision for the revitalization of the C Street corridor from India Street (One America Plaza) to Park Boulevard (new City College Station).
Initiated by the Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC), in cooperation with the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), the C Street Master Plan will define specific improvements for the corridor, including trolley, transit and infrastructure investments, streetscape enhancements, improved vehicular and pedestrian circulation, redevelopment opportunities, and public art.
Improvements planned for C Street will enhance public safety. They include removing and replacing broken and damaged sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and removing obstructive above-ground planters and trees. The improvements comprise replacing missing tree grates and trees and installing one missing streetlight. In the project area, current streetlights will be upgraded to high-pressure sodium lights and induction lighting on selected blocks along the street, for greater night visibility and lower maintenance costs. CCDC is also evaluating options for more significant improvements and master plans to revitalize the broader C Street Corridor.
