Open Space Needs Assessment

To assist CCDC in determining the parks and open space needs of existing and future downtown residents, workers and visitors, and to translate those needs into recommendations about the types of parks, recreational facilities and open spaces needed in each neighborhood, Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin, Inc. conducted an Open Space, Parks and Recreational Opportunities Assessment. The report can be accessed below.

From that analysis, a Downtown San Diego Public Open Space Implementation Plan (POSIP) is being developed to create a framework for the completion of downtown’s park and open space systems. The plan will address policy, maintenance, operations, funding, programming and design.
