Best Practices

Centre City Green was informed by the best practices of other North American cities of similar size and, ideally, will serve as a model for other metropolitan areas and communities in the San Diego region and beyond.

The program included an analysis of local, regional and State documents that set goals for energy efficiency and reduction of carbon emissions. The consultant team conducted a best practices analysis of sustainability programs with the San Diego region and in other major cities of comparable size.

The following table compares the central program elements of Centre City Green to those of other major U.S. cities. When compared to other programs, Centre City Green offers flexibility for the applicant with options that fit the building type. In addition, Centre City Green offers long range planning to meet regional and state mandates and addresses the public right-of-way.
