CCDC News Digest Board Meeting Summary of the Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC) Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009
The following summarizes Wednesday’s meeting:
Interim Leash-Free DOG PARK SITE APPROVED (East Village). The Board approved a site for an interim leash-free dog park in East Village and authorized staff to proceed with selecting a consultant from the pool of prequalified, as-needed civil engineering firms and their landscape architecture subconsultants to design and prepare drawings for the park. The Redevelopment Agency-owned site is located on the eastern half of the block bounded by G Street, Park Boulevard, Market Street and Eleventh Avenue. (Vote 7-0). proposed first amendment for Cedar Gateway AFFORDABLE HOUSING Project APPROVED BY BOARD (Cortez). The Board approved the proposed First Amendment to the Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA) between the Agency and Cedar Gateway, L.P., for the Cedar Gateway project. Due to unexpected changes in the financial markets, adjustments in the financing structure are necessary to make the project viable. The amended DDA will reflect new terms and conditions required by other funding sources. Cedar Gateway is a proposed 65-unit affordable housing project located on the north side of Cedar Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues. (Vote 7-0). BOARD RECOMMENDS REHAbilitation of historic villa montezuma CULTURAL FACILITY (Sherman Heights). The Board recommended that the Agency enter into the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City and Agency for the rehabilitation of Villa Montezuma. Villa Montezuma is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a San Diego landmark located at 1925 K Street. (Vote 7-0). To read the complete staff report for item 8, click here.
