CCDC News: Statement on CCDC Administrative Changes and Recommendations
STATEMENT FROM CCDC CHAIRMAN FRED MAAS
SUBJECT: CCDC Administrative Changes and Recommendations
"On Wednesday, acting as CEO, I took action on a number of personnel and budget-related items. In a very difficult decision, effective immediately, two senior team members were released, Barbara Kaiser, Vice President Real Estate Operations and Phil Bona, Assistant Vice President Architecture and Planning.
Several months ago, our Board froze bonuses and salaries for this fiscal year, and yesterday, again recommended no salary increases and an elimination of incentive bonuses for Fiscal Year 2010. The Board also recommended that next fiscal year’s budget, currently being developed, reduce the salary range of the vacant president’s position from $191,000 to $255,000 to $175,000 to $225,000. The search process has not commenced.
Austere times warrant austerity measures and while these are extremely difficult decisions, the CCDC Board and staff remain committed to serving the community, fulfilling our redevelopment mission and operating prudently and efficiently in these challenging economic times."
