CCDC News: Health and Human Services Capital Funding Assistance Program Launched
APPLICATIONS NOW BEING SOLICITED FOR NEW
HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES CAPITAL FUNDING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
SAN DIEGO, CA— The Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC) is now soliciting applications for its Health and Human Services Capital Funding Assistance Program. The new program provides low-interest service repayment loans to qualified nonprofit organizations, up to $1,000,000 per project on a matching-fund basis, to assist with facility relocation and rehabilitation or expansion through building rehabilitation proposals. A total of $3,000,000 is available for the first round of program funding.
“CCDC recognizes the essential services health and human service agencies are providing to people who live and work downtown,” said President Nancy Graham. “It is critical for such agencies to maintain a presence in the downtown area to serve their existing clients. Through this program, agencies will be able to upgrade their facilities and improve the services they provide to the downtown community.”
For purposes of this program, health and human service agencies include social service institutions, homeless facilities (congregate meal facilities, emergency shelters and homeless day centers), and outpatient medical facilities/clinics. The agency facilities must have been in operation at downtown locations for a minimum of five years and at least 50 percent of a facility’s clients must be persons who work and/or live downtown.
Interested applicants must first complete the Pre-Application Determination of Eligibility form for this program. Agencies deemed eligible for funding will be notified by CCDC and will then complete the Application for Funds.
A Pre-Application Conference is slated for interested agencies on Tuesday, February 12, to review eligibility requirements, discuss program details and answer questions. The conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the CCDC Large Conference Room on the 11th floor at 225 Broadway.
To obtain the complete program description and the Pre-application Determination of Eligibility, or to find out more information about this program, interested parties should visit www.ccdc.com or contact Jae Von Klug at 619-533-7149 or vonklug@ccdc.com.
