CCDC News: CCDC Hires New Staff to Assist Redevelopment Efforts

CCDC Hires NEW STAFF TO ASSIST REDEVELOPMENT EFFORTS

 

SAN DIEGO, CA – Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC), implementing downtown’s redevelopment on behalf of the City of San Diego, has hired new staff members to help with redevelopment efforts, including the future planning of downtown’s open space, public infrastructure, affordable housing and finance.

  

Philip Bona joined CCDC on June 25 as the manager of architecture and planning.  Bona was formerly employed by WLC Architects in Northern California as a senior architect and project manager. His diverse architectural practice has included single and multifamily residential, commercial/office, light industrial, retail and educational facilities. He is actively involved with American Institute of Architects (AIA) at both the state and national level and has published numerous articles. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.

 

Jeff Graham joined CCDC as manager of redevelopment on June 4. Graham has an extensive background in real estate both in the public and private sectors. Jeff comes to CCDC from Gafcon, Inc., where he was the director of real estate economics providing economic, fiscal and strategic guidance to both public and private sector clients.  Prior to Gafcon he was the president of The Guidant Group, a real estate investment and development consulting firm.  He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science; he earned an MBA from San Diego State University in international business.

 

Dean Coker joined CCDC on April 16 as a senior planner/project manager working with the contracting and public works team. Prior to joining CCDC, Coker founded and ran his own planning consulting firm in central California, New England and the Great Lakes. He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture and a Master of Science in architecture from the University of Notre Dame.

 

Margarita Garcia joined CCDC on May 1 as the accountant/business manager. Margarita previously worked for National City's Community Development Commission as an accountant. Prior to National City she was employed as an accounting assistant for the San Diego Natural History Museum. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from San Diego State University.

 

Eri Kameyama joined CCDC on January 19 as an associate project manager to assist with growing the number of affordable housing units downtown. She previously worked for the City of Oakland's Community and Economic Development Agency for six years as a housing development coordinator. Kameyama has also interned with Alameda County Housing and Community Development department, Oakland’s Mayor's Office and Oakland's Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. She holds a bachelor of law degree from Soka University in Tokyo, Japan, and a Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
