President and Chief Operating Officer
Position currently open pending recruitment process.

At an Oct. 8 Special Board meeting the CCDC Board agreed to enter into a contract with a national recruitment firm, Ralph Andersen & Associates to conduct the national search for candidates for the open President/COO position. Ralph Andersen & Associates is a Sacramento-based executive search firm that specializes in public sector placements. Information collected through public meetings, e-mail and staff meetings is presented in summary form below and was provided to the search firm for use in the search process.

Summary of Public Input Power Point Presentation

Citing deterrents to beginning the recruitment process immediately (including upcoming city elections, instability of financial markets, discussions of changes to redevelopment agency governance structures and the upcoming holidays) the Board recommended delaying the formal recruitment for the position. The recruitment process is anticipated to take approximately four months. The Board will work with Ralph Andersen & Associates to finalize a job description and outreach materials.

Under CCDC Board of Directors policy direction, the president/COO provides leadership and direction in the planning, implementation and administration of downtown redevelopment programs and projects. Responsibilities include facilitation of retail, residential, office, hotel, cultural, educational and public-improvement projects.
