The following governmental agencies or organizations can assist with setting up and maintaining a business in Downtown San Diego.
State of California - Governor's Office of Economic Development
Assists businesses with expansion, finding new sites, overcoming obstacles to doing business in California, obtaining funding for training, and addressing environmental/regulatory issues.
Centre City Development Corporation
Agency in charge of Downtown redevelopment. Facilitates the public/private partnerships necessary for redevelopment. Responsibilities also include strategic planning, urban design, property acquisition and relocation programs, public improvements and public financing for Downtown projects.

Handles property taxes and parcel maps throughout the county of San Diego.
Downtown San Diego Partnership
The Partnership works closely with regional business organizations and government agencies to identify needs, develop strategies, shape public policy and implement programs that strengthen the business climate and quality of life in downtown San Diego.

The public forum and decision point for significant regional issues such as growth, transportation, environmental management, housing, open space, air quality, energy, fiscal management, economic development, and criminal justice.
San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation
EDC’s expanded business development program supports significant corporate outreach and retention, while nurturing emerging industries and attracting new corporate investment through targeted marketing efforts. The policy program is focused on workforce development improvements through math and science education and developing entry- and mid-career ladders, with focused actions to provide the infrastructure – housing, water, energy, surface and air
transportation systems – to support 21st Century industries.
