PLANNING

The Planning Department performs professional planning tasks emphasizing implementation of the Downtown Community Plan, adopted in 2006. The Department conducts and manages a variety of Community Plan implementation studies, tasks, and consultant contracts and oversees all development entitlement services, including design review of new projects and discretionary land use permits.

REDEVELOPMENT and Acquisitions

The Department negotiates transactions and manages projects relating to complex redevelopment opportunities to meet CCDC goals to eliminate blight, support employment and ensure housing diversity, promote a healthy community rich in arts and culture, encourage private investment, support economic development programs and stimulate tax revenue for the City. The Department performs all tasks related to the development of affordable housing to ensure housing availability for persons of all income levels, household sizes and needs.

PUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

The Department performs professional engineering and property management tasks while implementing capital improvement projects contained within the approved Redevelopment Agency budget. The Department manages property under Agency ownership, and oversees the design, bidding, and construction of all public works projects. Currently, various public works projects are either in design, out to bid, or under construction, with many more in the conceptual planning phase.

HUMAN RESOURCES AND COMPLIANCE

Responsible for all human resources functions, including employee relations, performance management, compensation administration, recruitment, employee benefit and retirement programs, professional development and training program coordination, and employee services while ensuring compliance with all legal and corporate policies and guidelines.

ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE

The Accounting and Finance department performs various accounting and financial functions pertaining to the Redevelopment Agency, the Centre City Development Corporation ("Corporation") , and the Horton Plaza Theatre Foundation ("HPTF"), a non-profit company established by the City to oversee the Lyceum Theatre which is an Agency asset. The department is led by an assistant vice president of finance/controller.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The department works to research, plan, implement and maintain technology in a way that is sound, innovative and positively impacts the Corporation. Through this technology, the Corporation will find streamlined workflow, better collaboration and an increased awareness of technology and how it makes for a more efficient work environment.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

The Marketing & Communications department performs numerous daily and long-term tasks relative to the following areas: public relations, community outreach, media relations, website management, speaker's bureau program, events and public meetings, economic development initiatives, graphic design, printed publications/collateral materials and public bus tours. The department is led by a vice president who oversees all functions listed above and the operations of the corporation's Downtown Information Center, a public information center located within Horton Plaza, open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.
