Jones, a partner at the law firm of Sheppard Mullin, has practiced land use law in San Diego for almost 20 years, specializing in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act.

Her experience includes everything from urban infill to mixed-used projects to shopping centers and resort hotels. Jones has testified before local and state agencies, and has worked closely with such agencies on permitting and entitlement issues.

Jones chaired the Downtown San Diego Partnership in 2008 and continues to serve on the organization’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and is vice chair of the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee, having previously chaired its Infrastructure and Legal committees.

Also, Jones was previously the Mayor’s appointee to the Downtown Implementing Committee, which helps monitor the progress of the Downtown Community Plan.

In addition, Jones has served on the City of San Diego’s Historic Resources Board and its Wetland Advisory Board as well as co-chaired the San Diego County Bar Association’s Land Use and Environmental Law section.

She received a Bachelor of Arts, with honors from Texas A&M University and received a Juris Doctor with high honors from the University of Texas. She resides in Poway and has worked in downtown San Diego for 20 years.
